Dr Gayathri has completed her PhD in chemistry from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) in 2026. She has qualified National eligibility test (NET) securing an all india rank of 22.

Her research interes lie in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, with a particular focus on the chemistry and biological roles of the gaseous signalling molecules Nitric oxide and Hydrogen sulfide.
